Sorsix Earns The Highest Industry Label at IHE-Europe Connectathon 2025 for EHDS Interoperability

Vienna, June 27, 2025 - Sorsix has successfully completed testing at the IHE-Europe Connectathon Week in Vienna, demonstrating full support for the new xShare Yellow Button standard under the European Health Data Space (EHDS). The achievement earned Sorsix the Silver Industry Label - the highest certification level awarded, positioning its flagship product Pinga®, as a future-proof solution for EU-wide digital health interoperability.

What is the xShare Yellow Button?

Developed under the European EHRxF Standards & Policy Hub, the Yellow Button allows patients to download, upload, and one-time-share core medical records like patient summaries, e-prescriptions, radiology, and discharge reports - all in a secure, standards-based format. It's a central tool for realising the EHDS vision of patient-driven data exchange.

"Interoperability isn't paperwork - it's patient safety at digital speed," said Dalibor Frtunik, CEO of Sorsix and Vice-President of EHTEL. "By passing the EHDS Yellow Button tests, we've shown that hospitals don't need to wait for the 2029 deadline to offer compliant, patient-driven data exchange - they can start today, with the systems they already use."

Tests Passed At IHE-Europe Connectathon 2025

During the dedicated Plugathon track, Sorsix successfully passed live tests for:

● Download: exporting Patient Summary in EEHRxF / FHIR format

● One-time Share: generating Smart Health Links with secure, single-use access

● Upload: receiving medical data from external consumer apps or patient portals

● Link Consumption: retrieving and displaying shared data

● Lifespan Control: enforcing auto-expiry of shared links as per SHL specifications

These tests were evaluated against strict technical and semantic conformance checks outlined in the official xShare Implementation Guide.

Why it matters

The European Health Data Space (EHDS) is the EU's flagship initiative to ensure health data can flow securely across borders for care, research, and policy. From 2029 onward, EHR systems in Member States must support certified formats for:

● Primary Use (e.g. patient summaries, lab results, imaging)

● Secondary Use (e.g. public health, research)

EHDS Timeline for Application

With Pinga®, Sorsix is already delivering what EHDS will soon require - putting patients and providers ahead of the curve.
