New Nationwide Breast Screening Platform Goes Live in New Zealand - Powered by Sorsix

Around 135,000 women across New Zealand who are currently eligible but not getting screened will now be automatically identified to have breast cancer screening, thanks to the successful national rollout of Te Puna, a modern digital health platform powered by our flagship product, Pinga®

Transforming Breast Cancer Screening

Health Minister Simeon Brown announced the nationwide launch of Te Puna, highlighting its significant benefits for women's health across the country. The new digital platform replaces an outdated legacy system and introduces a proactive and streamlined approach to screening.

Women are now automatically identified when they become eligible and are directly invited to book mammograms, shifting the process from opt-in to opt-out. This critical change is expected to boost screening participation, particularly among the 135,000 eligible women not currently enrolled.

"Early detection through regular mammograms is critical," Minister Brown emphasized. "Women diagnosed through screening are approximately 34 percent less likely to die from breast cancer. Te Puna provides the right tools to deliver better care, faster - and ultimately, to save lives."

Smarter, Faster, More Effective Healthcare

Developed and delivered by Sorsix, Te Puna significantly enhances data accuracy, tracking, and reporting capabilities. Breast screening providers can now proactively engage women who haven't previously participated in regular screening. Women also experience greater convenience, with personalized options for booking and managing their appointments through secure links or QR codes sent directly via text, email, or postal mail.

Sorsix is proud to partner with Health New Zealand in delivering advanced healthcare solutions that transform outcomes for New Zealanders - demonstrating our commitment to timely, effective, and accessible care at a national scale.
